Best footprint speakers for walls

I'm thinking about setting up a stereo system in my room. 5.1 channel seems to be the best option. I want something that's small and still sounds great. Subwoofer will be hidden under the bed. Any suggestions? Price range anywhere from $100-$300

Phoenix Gold In-ceiling

I was suprised by the performance and construction of the phonix gold ATc6 inceiling speakers I used for my distributed audio system. Especially for <$40 per pair. They should work well for a small bedroom system. If you have enough money left, get on Onix X-sub or a small HSU sub for the bass.

Yea it's definitely a good price that I can't complain on. I'll give it a try, thanks guys.

I do have a question on how these speakers are mounted. I can't tell from that picture. I hope it comes with brackets or something I can screw into the wall in the corners of the room.

Speaker installation

Hang on a minute. The Phonix Gold and Dayton speakers are in-wall and in-ceiling speakers. This means you cut a whole in the drywall to install the speakers. The in-ceiling version has 4 dog-eared tabs that secure the speaker to the wall. You can't just hang these in the corner external to the wall.

If you want some small (enclosed) satelite speakers, look for the Athena Micra 5.1 speakers. IMHO the phoenix gold in-wall/ceiling speakers w/ 6.5" woofers, 1" tweeters, etc. Would be a cleaner installation and will sound better than most small satellite speakers in your budget.
