Best dimensions for an 8-seat room

Hi all...I am hoping someone can help!
We are adding a media room - dimensions to be determined.
1. Can anyone give us advice on the perfect room dimension for an 8-seat theater, screen size can be up to 100 feet wide.
We are thinking about two rows of 4 - partially reclining seats probably - we're not interested in full recline.
We have not begun our project - still in the planning stage - and can tweak the plans just right. Architect made room kind of square and we want to perfect the layout.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
2. Also, are there any sites for sample floor plans for home theaters which would show various options?
Thanks for any help I get!
Chris

17' x 22' x 9' would be a good start. You definitely don't want a square room. I think a 100' screen is rather large!

Those are actually very close to my dimensions. My room is 17x21x8 (basement - no choice in height). It works very comfortably for 2 rows of 4 and a 100" screen is no problem at all provided you get a PJ that will do the resolution at that size, proper throw distance, etc.

Following the "Golden Ratio" if you have 8' ceilings go with 12.5 X 20.8 - if you have 9' ceilings go with 14.4 X 23.4 -- if you are not familiar with the Golden Ratio it's 1.6X room height by 2.6X room height = acoustic dimension "perfection".

I have a basement setup and my room is 15*23*8 (no choice in height). I have 8 la-z-boys, 2nd row on a riser.
