Best dampening material for in-wall/in-ceiling enclosures?

Should I use acoustic foam, composite material, thin rockwool, eDead (which seems to be like dynamat), dynamat, or something else? Of course, I'll adhere this to the 2x4's and the dry-wall/insulation behind the speaker.

I forgot to mention budget friendly--so best budget friendly but not super cheap like recycling shipping popcorn.

Thanks in advance.

Rockwool is the cheap way.

Peel'n seal is a cheap version of dynamat but still expensive compared to rock wool.

Parts Express had Acousta-stuf on sale recently; $9 for a 1lb bag. I bought a bag because I have some speakers to build still...so I can't say how it performs.

They also carry something that looked like a copy of No-Rez for pretty cheap, though I can't recall what their version was called.

That No-rez stuff clone is the composite material I was talking about.

I figured those spray in a cans were lame. So, this is what is the better option for in-wall resonance control?

If it were me, and the stud cavity was opened up:
I'd use 'peel n seal' or a spray-on car undercoating(a few coats), then rock wool.
Unless the material is heavy and dense, you'd be surprised at how little effect it has.
