I have read on this site once, but can find it now, that there is a specific electrical cleaner recommended for cleaning "sticky" or dirty switches inside a receiver. What is the best one? I do recall one that was safe for plastic parts, but dont know the name....

I have a Yamaha RX-V1 that Ive been told has "sticky switches" . Basically the speakers have cut out. I used to be able to fix this by shorting the main in and main outs with an RCA cable and it always worked for about 6 months. Now this shorting technique is not working anymore.

I use DeoxIT on a lot of my electronics. Works great. You don't need to buy a large amount - a little goes a long way.
