Hi Everyone,

I'm compiling my first HT system and am wondering about where to start for a good center. My budget is limited to $200. I was going to go with the Athena's Audition .2's for the floorstanders, center, and rears, but have read not so great reviews for the center, even by those satisfied with the athena package. All this will be coupled with the SVS PB-10 sub in a room roughly 20'x11'. Note this system will essentially be dedicated to movies. I appreciate any help that can be offered.

Lots of folks (myself included) have been mighty happy with the performance of the Onix x-ls speakers. They've just introduced the center version of these speakers for $139. With a 30-day return policy, you could give it a whirl.

With that said, you'd want to try to keep your front 3 as a matched group, so if you're going Athena, I'd stick with Athena. But if that x-cs seems interesting, why not get a pair of x-ls to match? The 30-days policy applies to all. You do lose your shipping charges should you decide not to keep them though.

If you do check them out, check the B-stocks as well.

There is an X-CS in there for 109 and a day ago there was enough for a 3.1 system (X-LS, X-CS, X-sub) for under $500!!

They are wonderous speakers.
