Anybody have any comments on what they think is the best budget oriented sub? I am talking less than $400, preferably in the $300 range. I am replacing a crappy sony sub, so I think anything I get will be better than what I have. Also, my receiver is a Yamaha rx-v757. Thanks

Check the deals section, there's a few threads about cheap subs already. Also try a search in this forum as well, as there's always a lot of discussion about inexpensive subs.

Try a search for the Cadence X-sub. I believe it is $229 shipped.

Depending on how big your room is, you might also want to consider the Hsu STF-1. It's only an 8" driver, but it's very tight. It doesn't have the awesome depth of other subwoofers, but properly placed, you can get usable output to 25Hz.

I second that. the X-sub is a great value subwoofer.
