Best Audio Connection to Receiver

I have a Yamaha RX-V659 without HDMI capability and want the best audio connection for movie viewing. Currently my connections are as follows: Motorola DVR-DCX3400 to Plasma by HDMI>Panasonic BD55 to Plasma by HDMI>BD55 to Yamaha RX-V659 by analog cables. Since my receiver does not have HDMI, what connections would give me the best audio for my 5.1 system?
The manual leaves me a little confused and the people here have been able to simplify things for me on several occasions and I hope the same will happen now. I did see a similar question on an earlier post, but wasn't sure if I should post this there since it was in early May.
As always, I appreciate everyone's help. Thanks.

If possible, run a separate digital audio cable (optical/coax) from each source to the receiver.

Thanks, AVRAT. Will be ordering shortly from Tartan Cable. Have purchased from them and Monoprice in the past with excellent service from both.
