Can anyone help guide me to the best 25 ft (est) component cable on the market without paying Monster cable prices?

Thanks!

Thanks guys! I went with the first link (better connectors). I am used to Monster products and I am not a big fan of the basic connectors (first link), so that narrowed my choice down :) They look like some great cables, I can't to try them out.

Cheers,
Darin

Monoprice offers some of the best prices for video cables, including DVI and HDMI.

For component video cables you also have the option of using RG6 cable and terminating your own ends. If you use double or quad shield RG6 cable and compression connectors you can run very long cable lengths without any problems. Can even buy ready made RG6 cables with "F" connections and buy "F" to "RCA" adapters.

Don't laugh.....RG6 cable is better than a lot of the ready made component cable on the market. Especially if you buy quad shield. Same cable can be used for audio and video connections. Most are even UL CL2 rated for use in the wall.

Just a thought

What is with the price here i thought blue jean were supposed to be reasonably priced cables 5' for $45 !!! http://bluejeanscable.com/store/component/index.htm
Blue Jeans Cable is a step above Monoprice premium cables in terms of looks, connectors, and overall quality... but being a step above doesn't translate into any performance difference. They just look nicer, really.

$30 extra just for looks and MABY a little performance gain, thats okay monoprice looks good for now and I like the RG6 for making custom lenghts for cleaner organised look.

In the world of "ultra premium, maximum performance period" cables, Blue Jeans cable are an amazing bargain.

Are we looking at the same photos? The "Premium" monoprice cables IMHO look 10x better than the BJ's. I agree BJ has one up on the Mono 962's. The BJ Canare connectors are sharp, but I'm not big on the washed out red/green/blue colors. (we're talking looks, not quality)

BJ offers the Belden 1694A's for $69, all the way up to the 1695A's for $154. The Monoprice 25' premiums go for $22.80. That's quite a mark up for cables.

Do you own the premium Monoprice cables? They don't look especially fancy in real life ;)

Admittedly, I don't own Blue Jeans cables, but the Monoprice cables have that "shiny plastic" look to them.. the Blue Jeans cables look sharp and professional.

That may be important to some who watch their cables more than listen to music or video:D Others like to hide their cables never to be seen again.:)

No, those are too pricey for me. ;) I think I bought a fews sets of 12' RCA (brand name) component cables from Home Depot for around $10ea. The cable guys keep giving me free 25' (they claim they are unlabeled Monster cables) component cables. They have that "dull washed out look" to them like BJ cables. I can snap a pic if you're interested. They actually look like the BJ cables, but in off white instead of black.

I had a so called "high quality" set of component cables from RatShack, but the connectors kept separating from the cables. I've not had any issues to date with my current cables.

I've always liked the shiny look. My favorite color is gunmetal gray. Maybe that explains my sick addiction to shiny connectors.
Check out the first set at this site.

You keep playing with it, it will come apart sooner or later:D Plug it in once and wait for it to die:)
