Im stuck and could use a push. Since I cant really do a good audition of the DVD/CD players I am considering I am relying on feedback to make my final desicion.

This is what I want:
Strong 480i Signal
Better sound then Denon 800 (what I currentlyt have)
Looks good (physical appearance)

Here is what I am thinking:

Rotel RDV 1060
Denon 2910 (silver)

ANy thoughts on which is better/should I look at something different?

Do DVD/CD players make any real difference if you dont need it to De-interlace, scale or play SACD? In which case I should just buy something like the Rotel 1040 becuase it looks good.

Vancouver:

I bought a Denon 2910 yesterday at A & B sound for $865.00. i am comparing it to the Yamaha models. Still experimenting but so far, so good.

In that price range I'd be looking at the Denon 2930CI US$849 with the inclusion of the Realta REON VX-50 HQV chip by Teranex, HDMI, from 480i to 1080p video, Denon Link III and DiVx (v.6), WMA and MP3 compatible.

cheers:)

I recently bought the Denon 2930CI.
I'm VERY happy with it. Picture and sound quality are first rate.

At that price point

then it's no contest go with Toshiba hd player or blu-ray player :D .Also for a smaller investment look at the oppo 970, less then $200.00 CDN to your door.
