Behringer Eq, A500 amp and Denon 3805 compatibility?s

Ok, I’ve decided that I am going with 2 Behringer A500s bridged for each Polk RITi10s. I’ve also decided to go with either the Behringer FBQ1502 or FBQ3102 Eq unless there’s a legitimate reason that it won’t work. I mainly want this amp and eq. for the twin towers for when I am playing CDs, tapes and the tuner. I have some ?s regarding this setup though.

1. Will the Behringer Eq coexist with the Denon 3805’s internal eq.?
2. As far as hookup goes with the amps, eq and 3805, is there anything that I should be aware of or any unique hookups that’s necessary to make this work?
3. Does anyone know where to get the Behringer A500s at a reasonable price and free shipping – Parts Express is out of stock?

Thanks for any help.

I would recommend the 3102. If you need the extra bands You won't have it with the 1502.
You should not have an issue placing it between the 3805 and the A500. I think you will need a conversion plug from the 1/4" to RCA, unless you can find that cable combo to begin with.

You need to do a Google search for that A500 for best prices.:D

Couple of options...

Methodical;
Here's a couple of options for you. Zzounds has them for new 179.95 w/free shipping here.

Another option (I haven't listed them anywhere just yet), I picked up a couple of these a few months ago, but I've since bought a multichannel amp I couldn't pass up, so I'm going to be selling both for $150 each shipped.

From a hook-up/cabling standpoint, a straight RCA cable from the Denon preout to the A500's unbalanced RCA input will work fine. If you pick up any hum, you can buy a RCA->1/4 plug adapter from Radio shack for $5 each or they also have 1/4->RCA cables for approx. $5 as well. I had a little bit when running them bridged, so I used the 1/4 plug adapter and it eliminated it completely.

These provide plenty of power in stereo mode, but are absolute monsters when bridged. I can't imagine anyone needing more power than these when bridged, they are whompers... -TD

Thanks for the offer but I searched and found that deal yesterday and placed the order already.

I understand what you say about connecting the RCAs from the Denon preouts to the A500. However, how do you connect the EQ into the equation?

That's good to know.

You send an RCA from the pre out of each channel on the receiver to each channel of the EQ in, then the EQ out to the A500.
Then you are ready to EQ. But, don't do it by ear. You need an SPL meter and test discs, or an Real Time Analyzer or both.

What brand or disc would you recommend? I already have the SPL. Thanks
