I was after a basic amp with plenty of power:D
Is the Behringer EP2500 up with their specification they state?
I need 1,000wrms or higher **my saying is you only get what you pay for** is this amp really 2,400 watts RMS @ 4 ohms bridged? I can’t believe it for the price:confused:

http://www.behringer.com/ep2500/

or is there a better amp for the price?
Any advice would be appreciated;)

I saw the specs sheet. What do you mean fan? Yes it does have one but better amps have more that one. And you can kind of tell by the weight of it too about 16kg/36lb it’s a bit light for a 1200 watt amp;)

all I need is the continues power the place will be rattling so sound quality doesn’t really matter.

That is a switching amplifier. They are in the 90 percent or better efficiency range. The 36lbs. in that amplifier is probably almost entirely the transformer. The unit is probably over-rated in power by a slight amount, if Behringer's power specification method is consistent over it's different products. If one was to expect a typical de-rating of power claims by Behringer, one might use the A500 as a reference, since 3rd party measurements exist for this product. The A500 was claimed by Behringer to be 180 watts @ 8 ohms, and 230 watts @ 4 ohms, stereo mode. Actual measurements by The Audio Critic Magazine demonstrated that the unit produced 138 watts @ 8 ohms, both channels driven, before clipping exceeded 1% THD, or 220 watts @ 4 ohms, both channels driven, before clipping exceeded 1% THD.

The power handeling

Hi there, this is my first post!
Just thought I could provide some enlightenment for you on this subject...
I have 2 of these beasts to drive my subwoofers, and let me say they are some powerful it defies belief!
When I had them set up into a 2 ohm load for each amp I measure the output with an oscilo scope at 1600 watts from amp (this was producing a buetiful un distorted signal!
All I can say on the matter is that they are so good it does make other more expensive offerings look pointless...
I have even read from a different forum that they are actually just a re badge of an amplifier that a different company sells for arround £700!

In short THEY ARE AWSOME!
