Behringer amp question

I have the dual voice coil Kappa. I am in the middle of the simple slot port build, and it occured to me that the plate amp I currently have is not the best solution for this sub. So, I have a couple of questions for you.

Does anyone know of a deal to be had on a Behringer 15 or 2500 right now?

Does the Behringer have built in crossover abilities or do I need an EQ with it?

How do you hook up a dual voice coil speaker to any amplifier? (Does it need to be hooked up to both channels?)

You would either run the dual coils in parallel (halving the resistance) or in series summing the resistance.

So an example: Series 4ohm plus 4ohm = 8ohm resistance, parallel it would be 2 ohm resistance. Check this link for a better explanation.

The Behringer is just an amp. No x-over. Check out the eDesign eQ.2 you would use this in conjunction with the x-over built into your home A/V receiver.

i shopped around a bit for my EP2500 when getting one used fell through. I ended up buying it at musicians friend because even though the amp is the nearly the same as everywhere else ($350) their shipping was much cheaper for me (And its free for those in the lower 48)

You could run the mono signal to both channels of the amplifier and run one channel to each voice coil. The important thing is that both coils would need the same signal at the exact same level. This can be achieved by voltage matching the outputs of the amplifier.

This option would essentially be the same as running the coils in series and running the amplifier in bridged mono.

Further assistance please

I am starting with a Bash 300 plate amp for my sub build. The only information on the amp refers to a 4 ohm load. None of the wiring configurations mentioned or shown equates a 4 ohm load. What is your advice on connecting this amp. (For the time being!)

I just purchased a 2500 for my own subwoofer. the shack store over at hometheatershack.com has them for a good bit less than the 350 everyone else seems to be selling them for.

I have seen the 2500 for $315 on several sites in the last couple of days. They are getting more popular by the day it seems....
