There are a number of posters here who have the A500 and some have a stack of them, bridged.
Okay, you called me out
I run seven A500's. I haven't bothered working out the 12V trigger with them. My previous amp, a B&K Ref 7270 Series II, had remote power that worked off the 12V trigger on my pre/pro.
To be honest, at first I thought it was a slight PITA, but now I kind of like not having the trigger. Even the wife (loserwife
) has been trained and is comfortable not having the remote trigger. When I'm just watching SD television I just turn on the front three channels. When we're watch HD or DVD programs we turn on all seven.
Granted, the macros on my Phillips Pronto Pro touchscreen remote don't mean much anymore since I still have to get up and turn on the amps. But there has to be some sort of trade off since I only paid $179 per amp.
