Hello everyone, I'm glad to have joined this forum and it's piqued me to this day and age that I'm about to toss $1,500 on a home theater set-up. It's not going to be 100% HT, but more so 40% Music and 60% HT time. If anyone could recommend me a good set-up, that would be nice. I do have some knowledge on installation and such but that's really about it. Thank you!

And by small, I do mean kinda small..

If it were me with $1500, I would go with this pair of kit speakers, its matching center, this very capable subwoofer, with this receiver. There is a bit of assembly involved in those speakers, but it's very simple and the performance you get for your dollar is going to be extremely high. The subwoofer is a brute for the price but has very good sound quality and is a terrific value as well. The receiver is likely to be very good, it has a pretty good room correction equalizer onboard. That system comes under $1500 shipped. If you want surround speakers, check out these Pioneer speakers, and if you need speaker mounts, these are the best deal going. For speaker cable, just drop by Home depot and pick up a roll some 14 AWG cable. For HDMI cable, check out monoprice.com.

How big is the room? What is your listening style? Is $1500 just for speakers or does that need to include receiver? What about a tv? Just need a little more help before I can make any recommendations.

It's about 12 x 11 and my listening style is mostly pop and I guess music that involves bass and ballads. The 1500$ is for the speakers and the receiver. The T.V is a separate issue, Samsung UN55F8000. Thanks! Not looking for anything extremely big but something somewhat compact and mountable or whatever is the best option.

The Aperion Intimus line is all on sale right now. Great speakers for the price and a great customer service approach. Combine those with the Denon recommended above and you have a great - and great looking - system.
