Hi there!

I intend to buy a NAD T741 receiver and Klipsch QuintetII with KWS-10 SUBS.

My question to you guys out there is am i buying a good combination?

i was thinking of buying a yamaha rxv-350 for my Klipsch speakers because of the price but they say NADT741 is a lot better, however, according to the specs, it seems that Yamaha has a lot of features compared to NAD's.

Yamaha has this prologic II whereas NAD has only Dolby Digital and DTS decoder--im not really familiar with this.

Hope anyone can enlighten me on this one...

Who is "they"? The only "they" you can really trust is "your ears". Picking a combination of speakers/receivers is very subjective. Make sure you listen before you believe what "they" have to say.

for a good entry-level receiver/speaker combination. Keep in mind the prices listed are MSRP, and you can definitely beat those.

Good luck with your purchase.

If you can get that NAD for even close to the price of a 350, and it sounds good with those speakers then go for the NAD. It is far superior to the entry level Yamaha. They are not meant to contend with each other. If on the other hand the NAD is alot more than the 350 you are not giving Yamaha a fair chance to compete. Comparing similarly priced units is the way to do it. The key thing is if the 350 and the Klipsch sound good to you, grab them and enjoy the savings.
