Conductors of Beethoven's music...TLS

I inherited my fathers limited record collection but in I think I have a gem that I havn't played yet. Its Wilhelm Furtwängler's rendition of some of Beethoven's symphonies. I've never sat down and really listened to it yet..never had the time. I often wonder how different it will sound from Herbert Von Karajan's rendition. I have the complete 9 symphonies of Beethoven with Herbert Von Karajan conducting the Berlin Philharmonic and both made by Deutche Gramaphone... ..one set in vinyl which are mono and recorded in 62/63 time span and then stereo recordings made in the late 60s on CD.

I should really try and listen to Furtwnagler and Karajan one after the other to see how different they really are.
