Been in stasis for 13 years. Some questions concerning re-entry

Brand new to this forum and would like some advice. Thanks in advance to all who respond.

Thirteen years ago I had a financial windfall. I went out and purchased an A/V set up that was also great as a pure audio set up. Theta Casablanca II, Theta Dreadnought (I), Theta DaviD transport; Aerial Acoustic 10t (L/R), CC3 and surrounds. Also a Pioneer Elite rear projection HD TV.

This was all fantastic stuff for the turn of the century, though it never sounded anywhere near as good in my room as it did in the showroom.

In the intervening years the DaviD died - what a waste of money. The Pioneer still looks good, but compared to a TOTL Panasonic or Samsung plasma, it might as well not even be HD. The Casablanca has no HDMI, and the power amp is too large to be used in our new home (physically).

So, what suggestions does anyone have for me? I'm definitely going to get a Panasonic plasma, and I want to keep the Aerial Speakers, but I always thought the 10t's were under powered by the Dreadnought, and I don't see the value in upgrading the Casablanca to a III,

Help me :eek:get back in the game here!

Ever heard of Emotiva? Not really expensive but certainly good sounding and many here also enjoy them.

Why not go a bit more affordable on the electronics front IE:

Preamp - Outlaw 975
Front Stage Amp - Crown XLS2500
Transport - PS3 Super Slim

Might not be expensive, but you're not really sacrificing any fidelity.

If you really want to upgrade, you probably have to look at upgrading speakers. Perhaps some Salk Soundscape 8s, or Vapor Audio Arcus

Adding multiple subwoofers (4X Funk Audio 18.0) is another major upgrade you should consider

I doubt I have the budget for new speakers. Also, I forgot to mention I have a powered sub from Aerial as well.

What about marantz?
