BBE processor for HT

Hi guys, my first post here. Ran across this site researching processors. Question: Thinking about a bbe Max X-3, or a 482i to hook-up to my JVC RX 8020V receiver. It has no tape monitor loop. How would I hook it up? Receiver has pre-out terminals, but I don't have cash for a seperate amp yet, although I would like to go with seperate amps for my front main speakers, as they are seperate bass, mid-tweeter cabinets in the future. I'm thinking the Max X-3 crossover processor would be good in the long term, but may complicate set-up until I can afford seperate amp/amps. Any thoughts would be appreciated. BTW, awesome web-site. Thanks in advance.

BBE Units

S0rry it took so long to find this post....hope you still have a BBE interest.
I've been using their home units for nearly 20 years now, and LOVE what the process does for music & movies. I use to in the old 2-channel day just loop it through the tape loop, but now I've managed to buy 5 units over the years over e-bay to attempt to use BBE in my home theater.
I have a separate unit (a couple of 1002'ss, an ARS, and a newer 482) for each component; VCR, CD player, CD recorder, casette deck. I just put it between the component and the receiver inputs. Works great! If you insert it between your pre/pro & separate amp, it becomes level-dependent, not the best way to use a BBE.
For 5.1, it's nearly impossible to hook it up properly, unless you use the DD decoder in the DVD player (if it has one), and send the decoded signal to the receiver through the 5.1 jacks. Now you've lost any precessing you may want in the receiver!
In the end, it works best for CD's, VCR's (Dolby PLII movies/ music) and cassettse.
If you went to a separate 3-ch. front amp, you could get some results inserting 2 units as described above.
Hope this helped!
