This is a very old & much debated topic I am sure, but I am on a personal quest to try to understand what is becoming a default practice of splicing a subwoofer with 4th order Linkwitz-Riley to satellites with 2nd order L-R filtering at 80Hz amongst bass management products. Is this part of the THX guidelines? (Readers will probably already know my follow-up question).
