I recently got Axiom 5.1 speaker set and Yamaha 2500 receiver. I also have surround Test CD from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000005IG0/qid=1131162698/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/102-3192843-4876948?v=glance&s=classical&n=507846#product-details . Could you please walk me thru the basic step to work with test CD. What kind of sound meter I should buy?

I would like to focus on how to measure my subwoofer and make sure it works fine, since I am not happy with the bass in my HT.

Thanks

Here is the SPL meter you want: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103667&cp=&kw=spl+meter&parentPage=search

They also make an analog version, which some prefer, but they are hard to find. They may have finally discontinued it for good.

That test cd may have some value but I am not familiar with it. If you want a calibration disc to help you get set up, you should get AVIA or DVE. Amazon sells both and even offers a discount if you buy the two as a package together.
