Receiver connections
Connecting an S-Video cable from your DVD to your receiver and keep the S-Video cable from the receiver to the TV. Connecting the video from your cable box, VCR, and other sources to the receiver will allow you to output all video including the on screen menu to the TV on a single S-Video cable. You probably won't need a TV remote because you will only need to turn power on and off to the TV. Volume is controlled by the receiver and channels by the cable box.
Since your TV does not support component video, there is no point in buying more expensive component video cables to connect from the video source to the receiver.
