Basement Restoration Week 3

This past week saw alot of work done in another section of the house, the garage. What does the garage have to do with the theater? you may ask.

Well the garage served as the staging area for all the stuff that was vacated from the theater area. Which then made the garage completely unusable. So I ended up taking everything out of the garage storing it in the empty theater. I figured I'd never have another chance to get everything out of the garage again. I installed a series of steel shelving racks down one side of the wall, which has let me really organize the chaos that was my garage. Tools, audio cables, wires, parts, etc, can finally be arranged and placed out of the way. Which in turn lets me store the stuff from the theater so much easier.

So once again, helping out Daddy and his theater, helps out everybody! New spot will be online by December!

Also completed this week:

  • Scheduled the new floor to be poured, 3rd week of October quickest the concrete guy could schedule me in

  • Selected new color for the room

  • Selected new carpet to be installed

Sounds like you are making some great progress. Do you have any pictures?

I believe I do have some pictures of the garage before I started the organization project. Not too much different in the theater since the earlier pics so no new photos there. Once the concrete contractor gets in there and starts tearing up the floor I'll have a ton of pictures then.

That's the part that is frustrating, just the waiting. After the new floor gets poured, I'm going to have to wait about a month before sealing it. So that pushes back the carpet to end of November/ begining of December. So December is going to be a crazy month. But I'm committed to having everything done by 12/31.
