At least I think it's week 10. Looks like we are still on track for a December debut. Don't know what will be my first DVD in the new room. But I'm open for recommendations.
Anyway, the new concrete floor set very nicely. It's a shame I'm going to cover it up with carpet. Any how, now that the floor is poured and dry, it's time to close up the gaping hole from the garage/storage area into the theatre area.
For this job I bought a brand new circular saw. I LOVE IT!!! Man, that thing just flowed through studs. A couple of times it seemed so easy I had to double check that the saw was cutting. Plus with the laser it was so easy to follow the lines. I should have bought one of these earlier. I've been making do with an old jigsaw for far too long.
Framing went up, paneling went back on. There is a little misalignment of the wood grain. Reason being, I had to pull the paneling back down and add another stud to make sure the panel was nice and firm for the painter. Since paint is going to cover that up, I'm not really worried about the grain not matching exactly. Also re-wired a bit since I had part of the ceiling down and had decent access. In the event that Yamaha puts out a receiver that will output sounds through front effects and rear speakers at the same time, I'll be ready for it.
Next week's project: Reinstalling louvered doors and installing wood trim around the room as a template for the painter to add contrast with colors. Also, pulling all the banana jacks and face plates off the wall for the painter.
Here's some pics for you:
