I am setting up a HT system in my basement (7.1). I am also adding 6 in-ceiling paradigm speakers and a powered subwoofer in a separate dance area (16 feet by 20 feet) in the basement. So there will be 1 sub for HT and 1 sub to accompany the 6 in-ceiling speakers. I am leaning on buying a receiver for HT and a separate 6 channel amplifier (may be the Emotiva) to power the in-ceiling speakers. I am familiar with HT hookup since I have one in the family room (HT receiver 5.1 setup).
How do I connect the amplifier to the receiver and be able to play stereo music in the ceiling speakers. Also, how do I hookup the subwoofer (that's not part of the HT system). The 6 speakers (3 left and 3 right) all have individual cables running and can connect each to the amplifier. Also is it better to hear the music in stereo mode than mono mode. If not, how do I convert stereo to mono without losing sound quality.
BTW, both systems (HT and dance area) will not be running at the same time.
