I was the proud owner of a Yamaha C-50 amp, pre amp and tuner, I had a pair of Klipsch Synergy F3 tower speakers and that system rocked. My wife hated the speakers of coarse. I am by no means an audio expert but it sounded good to me and I loved it. Also have Klipsch Pro Media speakers on my computer. Ok I admit it I am a Klipsch fan.
Burglars broke in and stold my, TV, Yamaha stuff and speakers along with many other items but I need my sound back.
It is time to upgrade to surround sound and I simply cannot afford to replace the quality of sound that I had so I read the article on the home theater bare bones system. I also read review on the Klipsch Quintet 111 speakers.
While buying a 37" LCD Toshiba to replace my 20" Sony in Best Buy I discover they sell the Yahama RX-V463 as well as the Quintet speakers and of coarse the 10 or 12" Klipsch woofer, but the kicker is right now if you buy any Yamaha receiver, Quintet speakers and the 10" woofer you get $400 dollars off, that means the bare bones system using Klipsch speakers will cost $453.

Woofer help

I need to buy small speakers to keep the piece with my wife.
I am thinking about the Klipsch Quintet speakers but I wonder if I should get the 10 or 12" (Klipsch) woofer to go with it. Will the larger woofer improve the quality of sound or just the volume of sound?
Would 2 10" woofers be better than one 12"
I noticed that Klipsch recommends the 10" woofer to go with the Quintet speakers.

Sounds like a pretty decent deal actually for a big box store. Hopefully your wife won't hire more mercenaries to steal your stuff again.;) Maybe you should check with her and make sure she likes it first.:D

it is cash flow

Thanks for the replys, my wife is high on the suspect list ;) but the truth is I'm looking for the most bang for the buck because of cash flow problems.
I was going to buy a box job but the audioholics site has saved me from my lack of good judgment. I despise Best Buy but the price is just to good to pass up. I can always upgrade the speakers later if I'm not satisfied.
