Bad day to be a terrorist

Seriously, I have no life.
So, what Israel terms a limited incursion of Southern Lebanon has begun. I suspect that they intend to keep Hezbollah out of the area south of the Litani River.

Meanwhile heavy bombing of Southern Beirut is under way. The UK are trying to evacuate its citizens and have started charter flights.

Hezbollah have fired a missile at the American Victoria military base near the airport in Bagdad.

Meanwhile Hezbollah have accused Iran of abandoning them. Obviously Iran has a bad case of the funks about having to confront the Israeli forces.

Biden is now wrong to keep asking for a cease fire, unless he finds it politic to do that in public and send another message via a secure route.

Clearly it is in our, and everyone's interest to have the Israeli forces seriously degrade and hopefully eliminate these forces Iran have established to cause destabilization in the countries in which they reside. I have referred before to the unacceptable situation of huge armies funded by Iran, but not under the control of the legitimate governments in which they reside.

Once Hezbollah and Hamas have been dealt with, then the Houthis are next on the list for elimination.

Don't forget your beloved PM Keir Starmer and his speech to the UN.
...
Calling on Israel to “step back from the brink” to provide space for a diplomat settlement, he said an immediate ceasefire is needed in Gaza, where the suffering continues to grow. Diplomacy is the only way to break the cycle of violence, he said.

Biden said they need to cease fire too but, well....I'm not sure anyone is taking him seriously in any way. Sure, he has his moments, but it's time they use the 25th, IMO. That office is no place for people to say "He's OK, some of the time".

Starmer is already knee deep in scandal and proved an industrial grifter. After getting a huge majority, he has got himself more unpopular than Rishi Sunak in three months. His MP for Canterbury has already left the party and will now sit as an independent.

Iran publicly stated a direct conflict with Israel would set the Iranian military back 20 years.

Dighting Hamas, Hezbollah and the Hourhis is very difficult due to trying to avoid too many civilian casualties as they are imbedded in civilian areas and hide there. Iran on the other hand has regular military bases and othe very high value facilities that Israel could target indiscriminately. The only problem for Israel is the distance but I think Israel has a solution

Based solely on past, direct observations of Biden's diminished mental acuity (i.e. I can indeed believe my lying eyes) I'm not super comfortable that he's in THE seat during this crisis with regimes that are just absolutely looney tunes.

There we go being dragged into another war. No more American blood and treasure unless our mainland is attacked.

The country is seriously broke already, the next budget year our National debt is likely going to exceed our GDP. The interest on debt payments already nearly equals to defense budget. We already spend more than next 7 countries combined on defense. We have increasingly more full time working people barely able to put a roof over their heads, unable to seek proper medical attention or even medicines, depending on food banks from going hungry. We need to focus our attention and spend the money on taking care o four own people and country. Not fight wars of choice elsewhere in the world.

That is called an isolationist policy and history shows that it is a total disaster and a very dangerous policy.

So the war has widened with a massive missile attack on Israel by Iran. Israel will respond with force against Iran at a time of their choosing.

They seem in a mood for vigorous offensives at this time. I suspect the Israelis will inflict massive damage on Iran.

My guess is that their oil facilities and ports will be prime targets, to inflict maximum economic damage.
So get ready for the price of oil and gas at the pump to go though the roof.

The unknown question is what will Russia do? Iran is a major supplier of weapons to Russia.

I think this war will widen in the middle east now. It could widen beyond that region, but I personally doubt it will. I know some have concerns it will. If it does then history will regard WW III as having already to have begun.
