I have a pair of Polk Monitor 60 and Monitor 70 tower speakers. One of the 60's has a bad crossover. My question should I just buy a factory rreplacement crossover from Polk in San Diego or do some kind of upgraded crossover. I realize I will have to do both of the 60's if I upgrade the unit or a few parts. I am in the dark on this so suggestions are much in line.
Thanks
Mike

You can either buy a new crossover or find the bad component(s) on your board and replace them. No need to do the same thing to the other speaker. Don't buy a generic crossover. The network is designed and made for specific drivers and enclosures. You need to stay with original equipment with crossover networks.

Upgraded crossover components will probably not yield any audible benefits, and could be a pain. And it's even possible you could make things worse if you, say, used a large gauge parallel inductor when the circuit actually called for higher dcr. Just replace what you've got.
