hello all, new member... first post. I found this forum doing some research for the new build.
I am looking for opinions/feedback on my selections. I live in a apartment and have had the cops here with a Klipsch 2.1 computer set. Volume wont be importing initially but I do not plan on upgrading for the house when the time comes. the current room size is about 20 by 18 that leads into a open kitchen and a hallway. I will be doing about 70/30 movie/music and I listen to it all.
Denon 2808
B&W 684 mains
B&W HTM61 center
B&W 686 surrounds
I'm still researching subs and would love to hear a HSU vtf-2 MK 3
Does this system sound balanced?
Should I upgrade the surrounds to the 685's?
Should I downgrade the center to a HTM62?
Is the receiver balanced to the driver selections?
Do you have any suggestions on subs that would pair well?
I have had the chance to listen to a build at a local store with 685 mains, HTM62 center and 686 surrounds. I really liked the style and smoothness but was unable to convince the flunky working to move things around to hear the build I really wanted to hear. I didn't bother to get the model number on the Yamaha it was running on. I am impressed with Denon and would like to stick with them, even if it means moving up to the 3808.
side note: I'm not very happy with the Hitachi 53" rear projection but it was one of the first HD's and has seen it's day. like most, a 60" Kuro is on the list.
