I have a pair of B&W 685's which are front ported and are on stands, Now the B&W book says to place the 20" (0.5m) away from a rear wall. Now does this make any/much diffrent on a front ported speaker?. The rear wall is a studded wall and the floors are wood in the bedroom and can sometimes sound alittle boomy at times, Would putting the stands on a paving stone help?. At the moment they are :
22cm (9inch)from rear wall
122cm (48inch) apart
16cm (6inch) from the corner (only the right hand speaker)
