Has anyone else ever notice that a B&O plasma is by far the best looking TV out there? Last time I was at the B&O store we were viewing Indiana Jones and the picture was so clear that the split screen sceens looked fake. Granted that a 60" plasma will run me about $25,000CND.

The only time I saw a B&O plasma was one that was being demo'd directly next to a Pioneer Elite model. The Pioneer looked slight better IMHO.

Head down to a B&O store were they use the B&O equipment to process the video and you will see that the B&O is far superior.

The Runco plasma is an NEC panel with a video processor. Buy a decent scaler, ( about $2000) and you'll have the same thing. You're paying for that and the name with the Runco.

Most people don't want to have to buy pricey B&O electronics just to watch TV.

what I'm talking about

The Runco plasma is actually made from an NEC panel. Runco then puts their own shell on it and adds a video card for some models and a "control box" for others. Runco does NOT make their own panel.

It's not about the price, in this case it's just Runco taking someone elses product and making it their own.

Im with you Privateer.
The B&O plasma is an aestically pleasing piece of equipment and comes with a amazing picture. Just like all the B&O gear.. They are priced above the reach of most but that makes it more alluring

I don't know how RUNCO came into tthe thread, but I don't see why its important. Buying existing products, tweaking/modifying them, and reselling them has been going-on as long as consumer goods have been mass-produced.

RUNCO never said they built the thing from the ground up, and its been public knowledge that its based on an NEC monitor. NEC supplies plasma monitors for over a dozen companies worldwide, its just what they do.

I went to a B&O store at 63 Greene Street (SoHo) a few months ago to check out the 103" Monster BeoVision 4-103 plasma. Unfortunately I couldn't take any pics but the manager was nice enough to send me a PDF with some of the store's own pics.

I spent about 15 minutes watching The Dark Knight. The picture was simply stunning even at about 8 feet away. For those in New York, don't miss the chance to see this beauty. :)

And here they are:

One of the stronger bumps I've seen for sure, but I appreciate the cool photos.

I didn't want to start a new thread and this was the only B&O thread I was able to find doing a search. :)

That is a BIG plasma. I'm sure it looks great, but I'm sure it's also overpriced.

About $110K with the motorized stand (which can be rotated ±20 degrees / tilted ±4 degrees and includes the center speaker) or $90K without it.
