Due to an impending case of marriage, I'm selling my prized B&K ST3030 power amp and AVP 2000 Pre-amp. My significant other hates the seperates, and I have no room to really set up another dedicated system. I'd rather have them go to a loving home than sit in storage.
The ST3030 is a 200x2 (8ohm) and 300x2 (4ohm) monster that weighs close to 40lbs. The unit has never been driven hard, I've only been used it with two way 8ohm speakers, and has only been while powered off an Isobar surge suppressor. If I were to classify it's sound, which is always subjective, I'd consider it laid back with a soft upper end -vs- the more forward sounding newer designs. My ST3030 has some cosmetic corrosion on the sides thanks to humid michigan summers (see pic), but is functionally perfect, including all switches and interconnects.
The AVP 2000 pre-amp is in very good shape, has perfect functionality including the factory remote, and has the same rugged build as all high end B&K gear. This unit has the Dolby Pro Logic module instead of the tuner module installed, and I need to be very clear it does not decode AC-3. Does everything else though, including multi zone with a jillion interconnects. Wonderfull stereo pre-amp when used that way. Note that I fixed B&K's infamous embedded allen screw that constantly comes loose on the front function knob with an appropriate machine screw that does a better job.
Asking $400 for the amp and $300 for the pre-amp.
