Ok guys here I go, I stated in a seperate thread that I have Boston HD-7's for mains(poor old things have had tweeter problems:( ) and Polk CS1 for the center and HTD in-ceiling for rear. Not happy with the center being clear enough, It was suggested to go to a better center and to match fronts.
Well I like the sound of the Boston's but I have been hearing about Axiom's.
What do you think about them? Centers-VP100 &VP150 and Fronts- M3 & M22's. Any one have these? and would they sound better than Polk's (CS1&Monitor40's)?
P.S. I've heard about the BIC America DV-62CLRS, tons of "It's the best center ever", is it true or a bunch of dukkie?

I have the BIC center and, while it's a good center (especially for the price I paid), I don't think it's as good as some of hype claims.

Jaxvon, have you tried other centers? are the BIC's in the running with Polks(hopefully better) Bostons ect? You can sure get it for a great price(too good to be true) $110.00 but that's what scares me.

I have an Axiom setup(M22s, VP100, and QS8s). I was very careful about these purchases, and I bought them a piece at a time. I didn't want a big credit card bill staring me in the face. I ordered the VP100 after having the M22s for about 6 months. I had some mixed feelings about this, for I found the M22 a bit more forward than I liked at the time. The VP100 is a small CC, but it does dialogue just right, which is what most people purchase a CC for, isn't it. I actually was more impressed with the VP100 than the M22s. To my ears, the QS8 are excellent surrounds. If I were to make a change to my system, the only thing I would change would be the M22s. But, they might just be your Nirvana, since that last time I listened to BA at a store, I found them to be exceedingly harsh.

Before I went with Polks I demoed the VP150. To me it sounded dull and weak. A lot of people say Axioms are bright but I found the VP150 to be neutral. I went with the CSi5 because it was clearer and more forceful. You could give them a demo and return them in 30 days if your not impressed.

or do you want something different in sound? If you like the Boston sound, stick with a Boston center channel for best timbre matching. What is your budget by the way and how big is your room.

I'm heard the axioms and I must say that they are very detailed but after 30 minutes or so of listening, I got tired of them.. To me, the treble was too pronounced for my tastes. You could order the axioms and try them out iand return them within 30 days if you don't like them.

The other thought that has crossed my mind is if the Boston Acoustic sounds is characterized as warm or layed back, then the Axiom center channel will stick out like a sore thumb and your timbre match will be shot all to heck .

I've not heard the BICs or the Ascends so I can't offer an opinion. My setup is based on the Image series of PSB and my center channel is very revealing; so much so that in the movie Men In Black where Jay drags the table across the room while writing the enterance exam, the hair on teh back of my neck stood up from that screeching sound. It doesn't get more real than that.

Good luck in your search

BD for best timberal matching it is best to use the same brand of speakers and more specifically the same series. I am very familiar w/the Polk speakers you listed as well as the Axioms. If you prefer the BA sound then by all means go all Boston and be done with it. You see, what really matters here is what do YOU think sounds best. Who really cares what other people think about what sound you prefer....right? Personally, I am very fond of Axiom but I like some of the Polks as well. Still yet, my set-up right now is all Infinity Primus w/the exception of my sub(s). Therfore, for me it all came down to what better deal could I get and the Infinity Primus was too good of an offer to pass up. Lets just say I am more than happy w/the Primus speakers. So, go out listen to as many speakers as you can a draw your own conclusions in order to find the "right" speakers that will fit into your budget as well as suite your needs. Happy hunting!!!!!!:)

If you like "the Boston sound" then you most likely will like the way Axioms sound . I had the chance to listen to a pair of Axiom's along side of a pair of Bostons and they sounded very much alike .

The Bostons were the VR-950's , I forget the model # of the Axioms but they were towers that cost about $999.99 .
