Want to express my appreciation to all of those who have given me guidance for the past month. I have to admit I know nothing about speakers. Price wise and shipping to Saskatchewan is leading me to Axiom. Do not want a package deal offered by Energy or Polk but rather a system of bookselves, good surrounds and a base. This leads me to Axion, can any one comment on the M22ti, Qs8 and thier base unit EP175 and EP350. Have listened to Polk, Athena, Boston, Mirage, and Energy. With a 2,000 budget I do not think I can afford Boston or Mirage. Liked the sound of Polk but not Athena. The ony Energy I could find were the Take series and did not like them.

Comments on Axiom speakers and sub please.

Bookshelf system

I have the Athena Audition series and I will be upgrading to an Axiom M22 / QS8 bookshelf system. I think that the Axioms offer a great level of performance and value.

For subs, the Axiom EP500 is great, but SVS and HSU are better options in the <$1k price range. Also, HSU has canadian dealers so might be less expensive up there.

I'm not fond of Axiom EP175 sub. Although good for music, I found it rather anemic for HT purposes.. Thats why I ended up with PSB's subsonic5. have you looked at PSB Apha series or even Image series? They are also Canadian

3db is right, steer clear of the EP175. Unless you have a really small room.
