12 x 15 living room, carpet, sloped ceiling 8' to 10' with 2 foot gap above wall.
HK AVR-525, Klipsch sub KSW-10 (which I got free before I bought receiver).
70-30 HT-music (all kinds).
I've been reading reviews and recommendations about various speakers, such as Athena, Ascend, Axiom, PSB, Energy, Paradigm, and have settled on Axiom.
I did the thing on Axiom's website and got several recommendations. Pretty much decided on m22 bookshelf, vp150 center, qs8 surrounds, and 2 old monopoles for rears. Was seriously considering m50 towers for fronts because of their lower frequency drop-off (for music), but after more investigation realized that m22's are probably better because of their 3-D presence and clarity.
My only problem that I can see at this point is that I don't have enough room in my entertainment center for the vp150 (27+ inches), so thinking about buying a new one before I buy the speakers.

Hello Neznarf
You have a pretty large room The Axiom speakers would be a good choice because they are able to obtain high SPL levels with relatively little power
And have very good dynamic capabilities.
This means that they can effectively drive the room at higher volume levels
If you can somehow find a way to incorporate the VP-150 into your system that would be the first one to consider again because of the size of the room.

The QS-8 surrounds are also a very good selection but you must have a wall on either side of the listening position to install them correctly they should be placed on either side of the listening position about 12-20" above seated ear height.

The Subwoofer you are using is way to small for that size room
You should consider the 500 or 600 for that size room You can use the KSW-10 with one of the bigger subwoofers Your cross over point would be 60-80 Hz for the center and fronts 90-120 for the surrounds
And? For the Ex channels

The Ex channels should be placed directly behind the listening position at about the same height as the surrounds all speakers should be from the same manufacture and have similar sonic signature's for system balance

Hope this helps let me know if you need more info ;)
