axiom or monitor audio?????

I have a 17x17x17 living room that i will be using mostly for home theater use. Don't listen to music all that often. I run a denon 3805 reciever. I have been trying to decide which would be better between the monitor audio s8's or the axiom m60 or m80's. I am pretty sure i will be using the axiom's qs8's for surrounds for sure. but just not sure about the center and the fronts. So if anyone can help me figure out some more about these two speakers i would really appreciate it. Cause the only way i can actually test them is to buy them both and have them sent here and test them and send them back. And i would just like a little more input before i try something like that.

17x17x17?!?! Holy Cow! That's...almost 5000 cubic feet. I cannot comment on the above brands, but you may want to look into dual subwoofers.

If this is all for movies I would go with whichever had the best center.

Have you considered Rockets? The center cannot be beat though it is a ginormous monster of a beast.

Cant comment on the S8's but i do own a pair of m80's and they get very LOUD indeed

I'll let you know when I get my Monitor Audio's tomorrow. I'm going to have to haul all 270lbs of them up the stairs. I got one pair S8's, two pair S6's, and the matching SLCR that UPS should be dropping off. The S8's that I auditioned at a local dealer sounded fantastic but I got them for a much better price online. Now all I need is an amp.

thanks for the info guys. everyone has been telling me to look at the rockets also so i have been doing that. the rs750's or 760's both seem to be pretty decent. But you guys are right that center speaker is huge. And from what other stuff i have read that the axiom qs8's are some of the best surround speakers for home theater apps. haven't head much about the rocket rss300's.

The rockets are a little more than all the rest though. can get the axiom m60's, vp150, and qs8s for 1795 and free shipping. the monitor s8's are just a little cheaper than the axiom, and the rockets are around 2300 for the whole set up. Just to many damn decisions. lol.

I received most of my order today. I got the S8's up front with the SLCR center channel. I only have 1 pair of the S6's and they're not the matching pair so I have to wait for UPS to deliver them tomorrow. Just listening to the S8's and SLCR with my SVS PC-Ultra, the sound is incredible. The soundstage is huge compared to my old setup and the three match up quite nicely. I'm going to have to listen to all my CD's all over again so I'll be back in a few years .
