Axiom M80s on stands

Are there any Axiom owners out there that have put their M60s or M80s on stands? Is there any drawback to doing so?

Originally I didn't have anything in front of my speakers, but in order to create more seating, I had to rearrange my couches. The ends of couches are about four feet from the mains. I was thinking about putting my M80s on 24" or 26" stands to get them up above the furniture.

Thoughts? Anything I should factor in if I go this route?

I would send an email to axiom with this question. They have been excellent with both customer service and support type questions. I emailed them last week about my EP350 and Alan emailed me back within 12 hours. Not just with a quick 'brush off' email. He sent me detailed information along with plenty of insightful suggestions.

My bet is that it's fine but why not ask the folks that make them.
