Axiom M60 vs. PSB 6t

I currently have a Denon AVR3803, Dunlavy SM1 Fronts, Polk CS400i Center, Angstrom Modular 2 Rears and a Monitor Audio Sub (I know...its a real mixed up system). I am contemplating selling the Dunlavys and purchasing either the Axioms or the PSBs. As much as I would love to keep the Dunlavys and set up a dedicated 2 channel system, I cannot afford the appropriate gear for the speakers. I do not think they do that well with the Denon. I welcome any opinions or suggestions on the possible sale...fixes etc, but also I would like to know if anyone has heard the Axioms and PSBs together. I've heard the older image series, but I haven't heard the new ones and I've had no experience with the Axioms. Thanks, and I'm glad to be a part of this site. There is alot of great information.

I have Axiom setup. All I know is, is that Axiom uses Denon as their reference amp, recommends Denon highly. You can call them, they are incredibly helpful Don't know a thing about the PSB's.

I'm not familiar with Dunlavy speakers but if you like them, why get rid of them? Speakers are the hardest part to "get right" You can find some great deals on used amps that should be able to power the Dunlavy's with no problem. You might look at used Rotel, NAD and maybe Arcam to name a few. There are many others. You can used your Denon as a pre and use the amp to power the speakers. That way you get the latest digital technology with the Denon and quality power with an amp. I would just save up and get an amp but that's just me. If you do choose the go with new speakers, make sure you listen to them extensively. I would hate to see you get new Axioms or PSBs and wind up in the same boat as you are now.

Even though Dunlavy unfortunately went out of business, they have the reputation of being very accurate speakers that require alot of power, so Shinerman's recommendation is a good idea. There is no problem using the Polk center and PSBs in the rear. This whole idea of matching timbre of the center and rears to the fronts, for theater anyway, is overblown, IMO. BTW, I have M60s and like them alot, although I just replaced them with Gallo Reference 3s. The M60s are now in zone 2, and they sound real good in there, even with 40' of speaker wire between them and the amps.
