I was going to get JBL E100s for my mains but after reading about some other speaker choices, I am leaning towards these Axiom M60s for $400 each, I will be using a Yamaha RX-V1500 for power, I listen to a lot of loud heavy metal as well as blues and bluegrass and 5.1 movies and concerts. Anyone have experience with the Axioms?

I do not have experience with the Axioms, but have read much about them and do have experience with the JBLs. In my opinion, you'd be much better off with the Axioms. The JBLs are simply not competitive with the Axioms in their consumer/mass market line.

I recently purchased a pair of Axiom M60's and I am very pleased with them. I am powering them with a Denon 3805 and the sound is very clean. They can function as a full-range speaker (down to 37 hz) but I usually run them with my SV Subwoofer and Axiom center and surrounds.

Let me be clear: I have not yet calibrated my speakers yet (waiting to hang the surrounds first) but the system sounds great right out of the box. I can only imagine how wonderful it will all sound when calibrated ... which will happen during Thanksgiving weekend.

I recommend them highly.

Don't know about the JBL's; but I too have the Axiom 60's. They are tremendous very clean and detailed. And the QS8 is an excellent surround speaker too.
