greetings folks

I am installing a home theater in a 16x16 new construction room

I have a 5.1 system with 4 Boston Acoustics Micro 120's sub and center

I was thinking about getting some floor standing fronts and know I am SUPPOSED to go with the same brand but read about the Axiom's and thought they sounded great...

so - thoughts?

also any thoughts about in-wall rated wire - should I just go with the monster cable - 14x2's?

many thanks

Well, if you already own the monster cable, then it'd be okay. Otherwise, you can get a product of equal quality for a better price. I'd recommend either 10ga or 12ga inwall wiring for you speakers. Axiom sells some nice stuff for a good price. Westlake Electronic also has good prices on bulk Canare and Belden stuff. Impact Acoustics, yet another great alternative.

The M22's aren't floorstanders/towers...................if you've already got Bostons you may want to consider finding a deal on a pr of their towers. I have a pr of Boston vr950s which I use as surrounds(for now) with my Axiom M60's. There is a definite timbre difference as the Bostons are not nearly as open. They're OK & it probably won't matter too much for HT. The 950's are a 3YO model so I don't know how the newer Bostons sound.

If you were to migrate to Axiom speakers you wouldn't be making a bad choice ..............dollar for dollar a much better speaker than Boston, IMO.

no, not towers...

but I thought that, based on the reviews, that with a sub they would do as well and were more in my price range...

I guess I was mostly worried about how they would blend...

I am not certian it will matter a ton for right now and I can move to an axiom system over time.... but wanted some other thoughts on this..

thanks
