I like the sound of my buddies axiom 60's but don't have the grand to buy my own. Can you advise what other brands I might check that are cheaper but sound similar. I would consider used.
I like lots of detail but lots of volume also.
I already have a subwoofer
These will be mains.
Thanks

Are Paradigm Monitor 7's similar? If not, how would you describe their sound?

I've never heard the Axioms but I have heard Monitor 7's along with my 11's :D I like the sound of the Monitor line, only listened to Studio 40's because I knew I couldn't afford them. They are clean to me. Good bass extension, and clear highs. I had to start listening to my music collection all over again when I got them to hear what I had missing:) I love female vocals and these do it better than anything my friends and family have. I suggest going to the website and finding a local dealer and listening to them.

If you want something that sounds similiar to the Axiom M60 and is cheaper your best bet would be to go with the Axiom M22v2. This is Axioms top of the line bookshelf speaker and when paired with a capable subwoofer would be a close match to the Axiom M60 tower.

The M60 is much like the Studio 60. Very clean, lots of detail.

Since you already have a sub, I think TheBear covered it nicely.
