Can anyone give me some comparison opinions on Cambridge Soundworks versus Axiom Audio. My room is 18 x 14 x 8. I need a 5.1 system for movies only. So far I've narrowed my shopping to these two. Any thoughts and opinions will be appreciated.

Cambridge Audio doesn't make speakers. If you mean Cambridge Soundworks, I'd go with the Axioms. I like the M50 and M60 bookshelf speakers from Cambridge, but something like the M22 is going to be a bit better.

Ok

I stand corrected. The inquiry is still genuine and the responses anticipated.

Cs

So it seems no one here thinks much of the Cambridge Soundworks products. All righty then.

I think most people would be happy with the Axioms. Did you have specific models in mind?

Yes

Yes I am looking at the Axiom's M3ti's, QS4's, VP100, and EP175. As far as the Cambridge Soundworks it is the Newton MC300.2 HT system. I am also considering the Hsu Ventriliquists with a VTF-2 Mk2 or STF-3. My room is 2100 cu. ft. and a 80W/ch reciever. They all look great to me. I'm stumped.

The axiom system would be good, but scrap the EP175. Only the EP500 and 600 are worth it as far as subwoofers go from Axiom.

Look at the PB-10ISD from SVS and the Hsu STF-2. The PB-10 will be an awesome movie sub, having the lower extention, but I have heard the Hsu handles music better.
