Hello Guys,

I am running four speakers in an exercise studio, one in each corner, all wall mounted. I have hooked them up to my AVR65. To get sound to come out of all the speakers I have made two speakers front left, and the other two front right. The sound is good, but I have a subwoofer as well and I can not get any sound to come out of it. In fact, the only way I can get sound out of any of the speakers is to have surround sound turned off, the other modes just cause a buzzing sound.

Please help.

The AVR 65 has 5.1 capabilities. So I would use,and connect it that way.
You don't have them wired for surround sound.
So just hook the speakers up as one front right, front left, rear right, rear left.
Then you can go into the setup menu, and play Four Channel Stereo_Or 5.1
You can still use the sub that way also.
Two 8-ohm speakers in parallel present a 4-ohm load to a power amplifier.
So, the receiver sees double the load the way you have them hooked up. That's not a good thing.

How do I set it up as 5.1 Stereo? It is a bit difficult because I am not using a monitor, also I lost the remote many moons ago. Is there a way to set it up just using the buttons on the front? I am a real newbie.

I'm not real familiar with the AVR 65
You will have to go to their web site and look at a manual to see how to set it up
to play four channel stereo. Some AVR's show the menu on the front display.
If not you will need a monitor, just for set up.
Some receivers can play four channel stereo, and add a subwoofer.
IMHO that's the best choice in your situation.

5.1 produces five channels of sound, the left, right, center, left surround and right surround positions.
5.1 systems also have 1 channel for low frequency, which is usually sent to a subwoofer.
The (.1) in 5.1 is the subwoofer.
In your case it wouldn't be the best choice. It's a better choice for watching movies.
