That receiver has many raved reviews. The sound quality is ahead of any other receivers (according to some reviewers). If you can audition it at home without being commited to a purchase, go ahead, it may swing your boat big time.
* But you should also audition the latest Pre/Pro from Arcam, the FMJ AV888.
According to people in the know (who own it, and compared it to the AVR600), it sounds even better than the AVR600.
** Again, looking at your present system, and considering the cost of that Pre/Pro with the addition of some multichannel power amp(s), you might as well audition that Arcam AVR600.
