AVR Slim - Options

Hello all,

I am a common folk at various a/v sites and thought I would give this one a shot for my latest project.

I am putting some basic components in the great room of my house for everyday and childrens usage. I am limits for space aboce the fireplace, so need to go skinny! I am looking for a AVR, full featured, w/DVD is possible, but not imperative. I t will sit on a shelf I am building directly under a 27" Tau, and drive Energy E:XL's all around, including 8" powered sub.

I am considering all of the following, and would appreciate some feedback:
JVC - RX-DV5S
Panasonic - SA-XR50s
Kenwood - VRS-7100 or VRS-6100
Onkyo - TX-LR552
Pioneer Elite - EX-50 (Package w/DVD)


Any feedback would be wonderful!

this one might do the trick. dvd built into the receiver. i read several very positive reviews on it.

Thanks for the skinny on the slim!

That is a great deal by the looks of it! It is a bit more then I was budgetting and it not quite as slim as I need. I have to try and get it as far below 4" as possible. I have to try and squeeze it in to a spot above the fire place and still leave it breathing room. I will definitely consider this as it is a great deal!
