A Good Day!

This is my 1st time to set up 5.1 besides home theater in a box, I already set my eyes on this speakers [JBL STUDIO 1 SERIES] ( jbl.com/estore/jbl/us/landing/seriesLanding.jsp?seriesId=800007 ) but I'm having a hard time choosing AVR for this set up, will PIONEER VSX-1021-K or VSX-50 complement this speakers? If not can someone recommend a better choice.

Thank you and Happy Holidays:D

Don't buy into the "certain speakers sound best with certain receivers" line.

The speakers themselves, the room they're in, and the speakers placement within the room determine the sound. The receiver's participation in that chain is so far down the line it's laughable.

As long as a receiver has adequate power to cleanly drive the speakers to a level that suits you, you're home free.

I've not heard the speakers but nowadays some dedicated sub manufacturers (like hsu research) have been offering better value than brands that do all types of speakers.

Thank you Markw for a fast reply, regarding room, placement, speakers, etc, I dont have much problem. The thing I dont know is if PIONEER VSX-1021-K / VSX-50 will complement this kind of speakers? If not I need some advice please. btw regarding hsu, value wise they are better but i pref the design of jbl:eek:

again thank you

They should be more than adequate to power power those speakers.

Have you heard them or are you going by looks? If so, good luck.
