I am brand spanking new to the whole home theater world as of today. I bought a Denon home theater system the receiver is avr-590 and for the life of me I can't get sound for my XBOX360. I have it connected via HDMI to the TV and from the 360, I can get video but no audio. Also, I bought a PS3 today as well and can't get it to show video or audio through the receiver. I've messed with the menus for several hours and can't seem to get anything to work. I know the speakers are plugged in correctly, and the sound is up, (I can get sound if I switch to the PS2) but nothing for the PS3 or XBOX360. Thanks for any advice anyone can offer.

You have to read your manuals carefully for optimal settings (and from your PS3 and from your receiver).

* There are many settings (audio & video) in all these components.
Take your time.

Is your Denon AVR-590 HDMI v.1.3? So it can pass the new high res. audio.
Or do you need to connect your XBox360 from the digital Optical cable for the sound?

Same with your PS3, it is a very complex machine with zillion of settings.
How's your PS3 connected? HDMI?

-> By the way, Welcome to Audioholics forums. :)
