Avoiding receiver, but would like to avoid soundbar as well!

I figure can get pretty good sound out of $200 pro audio powered speakers and a $100 SUB-800 which would beat out any sound bar package for $300 or less.

The trick is getting the signal to the sub!

I could just use the XO on the back of the sub, but can I use a wye cable to feed both the sub and the monitors without audible degradation of the signal to the monitors?

If not, are there any good powered speakers with a sub out?

The source would be TV or streaming box.

Better options for ~$300 budget?

There’s no problem splitting the TV’s output. Alternately, some powered speakers have a “through” line out as well as line in.
