Amazon says it comes out Jan. 1 2008. Having gone without this long, should I just give it another month to get the II version?

This is the first I've heard of AVIA II. I wonder what changes/improvements have been made. Maybe it is now more suitable for calibrating HD TVs.

I'd certainly wait for Jan for version II. I'll be looking to pick it up for myself if it offers anything new over the current version.

The thing is that Avia and DVE can be bundled for $55. I'm laid off now and have time for this nonsense. Is getting both the way to go and is Amazon the place of choice to get them from? As it stands now I'm leaning toward waiting for Avia II and getting only that.

I already have a RS SPL Meter. My gear is listed in my sig. Thanks.

I got them both via a bundle deal and I think it was from Amazon. It's nice to have both but you really only need one.

IMO DVE is easier for video calibration because it pauses at each screen and won't continue until you hit play again. AVIA gives you a few minutes and then automatically advances. You can always hit prev chapter to go back but you have to suffer through the explanation again.
