Avatars (again!)

Have the rules changed? Are we poor members now allowed to upload .gifs as avatars? Or does this only apply to Moderators?

As far as I know the same rules apply:

"The maximum size of your custom image is 64 by 64 pixels or 19.5 KB (whichever is smaller)."

Hmm, they do. I just tried uploading a .gif and received the following message:

You may not upload animated images.

How then did Jeffsg4mac manage to upload an animated avatar?

Oh I'm not complaining, and I certainly don't want to get Jeff into any kind of trouble. I'd just wondered if we were now able to upload .gifs. I guess not.

With hindsight I should've just tried it out before posting. Best that you delete this thread after reading this post so as not to get Jeff into trouble with Clint.

Jeff's a mod... I'm not sure I can change the rules for one person since the permissions are tied to user type in most cases. I'd have to check.

I'd never ask you to. In fact if you did I'd ask you not to. I should be treated no differently from any other.
