I have a denon 1707. I want to upgrade to a pioneer vsx 1019ah-k.

Here is why, I have only a 3.1 system in my house. I know lame but that is what I have now. I have two def tech 7006 fronts, klipsch c2 center and a klipsch ksw 10 woofer.

Should I go to the 120x7 pioneer or will then 75x7 push it or are my expectations to high?

The difference between 120w and 75w is 10 * log(120/75) = 2.04 dB. 2 dB is barely detectable to the ear.

There may be other reasons why you might prefer the Pioneer but the slightly higher wattage isn't really much of a concern.
